The 35th anniversary of the June Fourth Incident, police deployed a large number of personnel to Tin Hau Wan Chai on the 4th, during which many people were taken away.
According to the police’s response early this morning, as of 11:30 pm last night, 2 men and 2 women suspected of committing crimes aged between 23 and 69 were arrested in Wan Chai and North Point on Hong Kong Island.
Among them, a 68-year-old woman was arrested yesterday afternoon in a public place on Yee Wo Street, Wan Chai for allegedly violating “inciting related crimes” by shouting slogans.
A 24-year-old man and a 69-year-old woman were behaving suspiciously in a public place on Yee Wo Street last night. When personnel approached to intercept, the man was suspected of attacking two police officers. The two were arrested for “attacking police officers” and “acting improperly in a public place.”
A 23-year-old man suspected of attacking two security guards in a park on Hing Fat Street yesterday afternoon was arrested for “common assault.” All those arrested are currently being detained for further investigation.
In addition, there were 3 men and 2 women at the scene, aged between 27 and 88, who were brought back to the police station for further investigation on suspicion of “disturbing public order.” They were later all allowed to leave.
