32nd Anniversary Celebration of the North American Chinese Accountants Association: Biden Congratulates and Praises Contributions

The North American Chinese Accountants Association celebrated its 32nd anniversary at the Pacific Palms Resort on October 27th. U.S. President Biden sent a congratulatory letter, praising the association for showcasing the best of America. Professionals from all fields gathered to provide community members with the tools and education needed for success.

Reflecting on the past four years, outgoing President Zhang Qing expressed gratitude to association members for their collective efforts. Despite the pandemic, the association actively provided community services and organized numerous accountant exchanges and public lectures online. The association has also facilitated professional cooperation between the U.S. and the Asia-Pacific region, becoming a prominent professional organization nationwide. In October last year, they hosted the Asia-Pacific Chinese Accountants Cooperation Forum in Las Vegas, attracting professionals from Taiwan, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Canada to explore collaboration opportunities.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles Director Ji Qin-yao commended the association’s efforts in promoting business exchanges between Taiwan and the U.S. He emphasized the importance of the association’s work for Chinese businesses looking to expand into the U.S. and warmly welcomed their annual visits to Taiwan to deepen cooperation.

Incoming President Wang Guangzhong will take over from Zhang Qing. He looks forward to leading association members to achieve new milestones and enhance connections and growth for Chinese accountants across the country. Wang, who will assume office on January 1st next year, stressed the importance of working together with the new team to expand diverse activities and provide more positive impact on society.

IRS Commissioner Danny Werfel congratulated the successful celebration of the association’s 32nd anniversary. He appreciated the association’s contributions to taxpayer education and the promotion of financial and tax knowledge, stating that the association is a key partner for the IRS in improving the tax system and enhancing taxpayer interactions.

Federal Congresswoman Zhao Meixin praised the association for its long-term contributions to the Chinese community. She acknowledged the close cooperation she has maintained with the association since serving as a California Fair Political Practices Commission tax official and thanked the association for its professional assistance to the community.

Elected officials including California Senator Bob Archuleta, California Assemblyman Fang Shuqiang, and California Treasurer Maxine Zhang also delivered speeches or video messages to congratulate the association and presented certification certificates to acknowledge its outstanding contributions to the community.

The North American Chinese Accountants Association’s 32nd anniversary celebration and president handover banquet not only reviewed the past year’s achievements but also honored several honorary members and remembered the late accountants Zhang Dezhi and Shi Qixiang. Attendees are looking forward to the leadership of the new President Wang Guangzhong, Chairman Zhang Qing, and Director Li Chongzheng in continuing to achieve more milestones for the Chinese community and the financial and accounting profession. ◇
