Recently, mainland Chinese internet celebrity “Yunnan Aqui” suffered a sudden cerebral hemorrhage during a live broadcast. Unfortunately, after being in a coma for 8 days, rescue efforts were unsuccessful, and he passed away in the early hours of the 14th. He leaves behind four young children, a truly heartbreaking situation.
On October 6, “Aqui” mentioned feeling a headache during a live broadcast, saying, “I can’t take it anymore, I feel like fainting.” He held his head in his hands, showing a pained expression before abruptly ending the broadcast.
According to reports from “Cover News,” team members noticed something was wrong that day and urgently rushed Aqui to the hospital. After examination, he was diagnosed with a brainstem hemorrhage and underwent a craniotomy due to the seriousness of his condition. On October 12, staff members revealed that Aqui was still in the ICU receiving treatment, with a less optimistic outlook.
On the 14th, after being comatose for 8 days, Aqui passed away due to the worsening of his cerebral hemorrhage. His disciple “Feng Shaoye AK” posted two videos consecutively: “How could you be so merciless, leaving behind a family.” “It’s dawn, don’t be afraid. We will take you home.” In the videos, Aqui’s family and disciples were seen burning joss paper.
After Aqui was hospitalized, his 6-years-younger wife, Tang Sanmei, posted multiple videos under the account of “Yunnan Aqui.” In one video, Tang Sanmei knelt on the ground and cried inconsolably. In another video, she wandered outside the hospital room with their child, praying for Aqui to wake up soon.
Public records show that 32-year-old “Yunnan Aqui,” a native of Zhaotong, Yunnan, was a self-media creator with over a million fans online. His video works usually featured local characteristics and elements of ethnic culture, showcasing Yunnan’s customs and culture in a humorous manner.
Reportedly, as the main pillar of his family, Aqui was always working hard during his live broadcasts. With four children to support, he had a 7-year-old daughter with his ex-wife and three children with his current wife, the oldest being only 3 years old, and a pair of twins at just 5 months old.
Interestingly, after Aqui fainted suddenly during the live broadcast and was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment, various rumors and speculations swirled about him, with some even suspecting that it was a prearranged script. Unfortunately, Aqui never woke up from his coma.
On October 14, Aqui’s wife, Tang Sanmei, wrote on a short video platform: “Husband, you have always doted on me, taken care of me, but this time you are so selfish and heartless, leaving behind your wife, children, parents, with no regard or explanation. What should I do next with four kids and parents left behind? Please wake up and tell me, what should I do?”
Aqui’s team members mentioned that he had hypertension before, often staying up late for live broadcasts, leading to significant stress. “He was only 32 years old this year, his departure was too sudden, leaving behind his wife, parents, and four young children; it’s truly heartbreaking.”
