On October 26, 2024, Golden Mountain Bay Area Moms’ Classroom announced that they will be celebrating their 30th anniversary on November 23 (Saturday) at noon, in South Bay with a theme of “Shining Thirty, Review and Outlook” featuring diverse classic lectures. Apart from exciting prizes for lucky draw, attendees will also receive practical gift bags sponsored by various businesses.
Established in the early 1995, Golden Mountain Bay Area Moms’ Classroom is a diverse and multifunctional women’s education and growth group. Over the past thirty years, this classroom has invited experts and scholars biweekly on Fridays to conduct a variety of fascinating lectures, becoming one of the influential associations in the Bay Area.
The celebration will revolve around six main themes: “knowledge, cuisine, beauty, gardening, fitness, and grace,” jointly presenting a diverse and unique classic lecture session, inviting heavyweight guests to share their insights. Among the speakers are Madam Su Hsin-yuan, the Republic of China Ambassador to the Vatican, Cai Xunxi, the U.S. California agent for Duen Chun-chen Beef Noodles, Zhang Qiwei, the head of Instant Tek Solution, gardening expert Hsu Cheng-en, founder of the California Line Dance Association Lin Gui-xiang, and traditional Chinese medicine practitioner Hu Mei-ying, who will bring rich exchanges and knowledge sharing.
Gao Yuli, the head of Golden Mountain Bay Area Moms’ Classroom, reflected on the establishment of the classroom, the thirty-year journey of growth and achievements. She mentioned that the initial purpose of creating this platform was to help Taiwanese female immigrants adapt to life and culture in America, providing opportunities for re-education and growth. Furthermore, she encouraged overseas female compatriots to actively participate in community service, uniting the overseas Chinese community. The Taiwan Food Tour was highlighted as an innovation of the Moms’ Classroom, now a popular activity loved by Taiwanese expatriates worldwide.
Chuang Ya-shu, director of the Overseas Chinese Education Center, stated that this year marks an important milestone as the Moms’ Classroom celebrates its 30th anniversary. Over the past 30 years, through bimonthly lectures on humanities, technology, health, and more, Moms’ Classroom has enriched the lives of overseas compatriots in the Golden Mountain Bay Area.
In May of this year, Moms’ Classroom also collaborated with the Overseas Chinese Commission to host the Taiwan Cultural Festival, promoting Taiwanese cuisine and organizing cooking competitions, sparking a Taiwan craze in Northern California.
In addition to the engaging lectures, sponsoring companies will set up booths to promote and sell products on the day of the event. Attendees can enter starting at noon.
The celebration has also prepared commemorative items such as the “Shining Thirty” mobile phone waist bag, Duen Chun-chen snack box, and household items sponsored by multiple businesses. Each participant with a ticket can receive a rich gift bag and have the opportunity to participate in the lucky draw.
