Taiwan’s Chinese Culture Association announced the “2025 National Day Presidential Building Light Show” today (18th), which will be projected on the Ketagalan Boulevard in front of the Presidential Office from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm on October 7th to 10th, taking everyone on a journey through the corridor of time.

Organized by the Chinese Culture Association (CCA), the “2024 National Day Presidential Building Light Show – When We Are Together” won the platinum award at the 2025 London Design Awards, showcasing the “light of Taiwan” to the world. CCA unveiled the main visual theme, cast, and behind-the-scenes lineup for the 2025 National Day Presidential Building Light Show, titled “Stay Tuned, TAIWAN”.

The 2025 National Day light show is directed by the Presidential Office, organized by the CCA, and jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture’s Film and Music Industry Bureau. This year, in celebration of the 60th Golden Bell Awards, the event will feature Chen Yalan, a traditional Taiwanese opera artist, and veteran media personality Shen Chunhua performing together for the first time.

Chen Yalan, who made her debut in 1985, has received numerous awards throughout her career. In 2022, she was honored as the “Emperor of Drama” for her performance in “Traveling Taiwan with Jiaqing”, marking a historic moment in the Taiwanese television industry as the first female to win the award for Best Actor. Shen Chunhua, a seasoned host, has been the recipient of the most individual awards since the establishment of the Golden Bell Awards in the program category. The two legendary figures in Taiwanese television will not only embody beloved characters but also narrate the 60-year history of Taiwanese television to the audience during the National Day light show, with Shen Chunhua performing at a national-level event for the first time.

According to CCA Secretary-General Li Houqing, the behind-the-scenes lineup for this year’s National Day light show boasts a strong team, featuring artists who have been in charge of the event since 2017, including lighting designer Chen Yijie, the main visual designer for the 2024 National Day light show, Qiu Ximin, and playwright Wang Jingdun, whose work “Rising Madness” won four major awards at the 2017 Bangkok Art Festival, including Best Screenplay, Best Director, Best Art Design, and Best Physical Performance.

Additionally, Li Houqing mentioned that the behind-the-scenes team also includes Wang Xiwen, the music director of Fungjai Studio, Lin Yongyi acclaimed as Taiwan’s top film editor, and hundreds of other professionals and authorized units, all striving to deliver a spectacular, colorful, and heartwarming light show for the Taiwanese people.

CCA stated that the Golden Bell Awards have been accompanying the people of Taiwan for a century since 1965. This year’s National Day Presidential Building Light Show, themed “Stay Tuned, TAIWAN!” in celebration of the 60th Golden Bell Awards, will showcase a compilation of 62 classic television dramas and 25 popular variety shows. Chen Yalan and Shen Chunhua will participate in the event, which will be screened on Ketagalan Boulevard in front of the Presidential Office from 7th to 10th, starting at 7:00 pm and ending at 9:30 pm, inviting the audience to witness over half a century of Taiwanese television history and step into the corridor of time, reminiscing about the history of the Golden Bell Awards in Taiwan.

Moreover, CCA mentioned that the selected 62 classic television dramas and 25 popular variety shows include “Five Lantern Awards”, which produced many singing kings and queens, “I Love Red Sister”, the first dating television program in Taiwan, “Happy Day”, “Super Sunday”, “Guess Guess Guess”, “Kangsi Coming”, “All-Star Sports Meeting”, and other popular variety shows.
