2 people lost contact in a sudden mudslide in a village in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan.

On July 19, heavy rainfall triggered a mudslide in Meino Village, Meiwu Township, Xiaojin County, Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, leading to the evacuation of 26 villagers and leaving 2 individuals missing.

In the early hours of today, the torrential rain continued to wreak havoc in Xinhua Village, Malie Township, Hanyuan County. The Emergency Management Bureau of Xiaojin County in Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, issued another notification stating that around 6:00 pm on the 19th, Meino Village in Meiwu Township of Xiaojin County was affected by heavy rain. A sudden mountain torrent mudslide occurred in Hannan Gou, flooding the village like a fierce beast, sweeping away houses and breaking electric poles. As a result, 26 people were evacuated, and two went missing.

The Sichuan Meteorological Observatory continued to issue a blue alert for heavy rain on July 20 at 15:00: from tonight at 8:00 pm to the 21st at 8:00 pm, there will be heavy to torrential rain in Ya’an and Leshan cities, the western parts of Guangyuan, Mianyang, Deyang, Chengdu, and Meishan cities, the southeastern part of Ganzi Prefecture, and the northern and western parts of the Panxi region.
