On June 21st, a netizen posted a video on social media claiming that on the afternoon of June 19th, students from Shimmen Street Town Middle School in Poyang County, Shangrao City, were involved in a bus accident on their way back from the exams, resulting in casualties.
The video circulating online shows the back half of the left side of the bus severely damaged.
On June 22nd, the Poyang County Public Security Bureau in Jiangxi released a police report stating that at 13:32 on June 19th, a bus and a semi-trailer truck were involved in a side collision on Fushan Road, Xiejia Beach, Poyang County. The accident resulted in two deaths and four injured individuals receiving treatment at the hospital. The bus driver, Jin, was transporting students and lost control due to overspeeding and slippery road conditions caused by rain, resulting in the accident. Jin has been criminally detained.
