On August 10, a 19-year-old female university student was fatally stabbed multiple times by a young man with scissors at the Meihu Scenery Area in the Badashanren, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. According to online reports, the student was a student at the School of Diplomacy and was tragically killed after refusing the assailant’s advances.
It was reported by netizens on August 12 that around 1:50 PM on August 10, a middle-aged male thug killed the 19-year-old female university student by stabbing her neck artery, abdomen, and other body parts over ten times with scissors, leading to her immediate death without a chance for rescue.

On August 12, the Xiaoxiang Morning News learned from the victim’s family and friends that the case is currently under investigation. The victim was visiting the scenic area with friends on the day of the incident.

Subsequently, the Qingyunpu Sub-Bureau of the Nanchang Public Security Bureau in Jiangxi Province reported that on August 10, an incident of assault occurred near Qingyunpu Road in the Qingyunpu District of Nanchang. After preliminary investigation, around 1:40 PM that day, the suspect Xi XX (male, 23 years old, from Gao’an, Jiangxi, with a history of mental illness) used scissors to harm Liu XX and Shi XX, resulting in the death of Liu XX despite rescue attempts, while Shi XX was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Xi XX has been criminally detained, and the case is under further investigation.
