Thousands of people gathered in Jiangyou City, Sichuan Province on August 4th to protest against the bullying incident that occurred on July 22nd, where a 14-year-old girl was subjected to multiple forms of abuse, including forced stripping, kneeling, continuous slapping, beating with a stick, and kicking in the back. The bullying video was exposed online on August 2nd, sparking public outrage. However, the authorities responded by suppressing the protests with a large number of police officers, silencing the voices of the demonstrators.

On August 3rd, a video of an underage person being bullied went viral on social media. The footage showed a group of teenage girls verbally abusing and physically assaulting another girl inside an unfinished building. The victim was coerced to undress, leaving her only in her underwear and shorts, and was then instructed to stand against the wall in a military-like posture while being hit forcefully with a long stick by one of the culprits.

Subsequently, the perpetrators proceeded to pull her hair, slap her continuously, and count the blows out loud. The girl, in tears, begged for mercy, mentioning that her family would report the incident to the police. To this, the attackers responded defiantly, indicating that they were not afraid of any consequences, stating that they had been in trouble many times before and were not scared of the victim’s threats.

In an interview by “RHDN News,” the family of the victim, Lai, disclosed that this was not the first time she had experienced such bullying from the same individuals. The family expressed their strong desire for the bullies’ families to apologize, emphasizing the need for justice to be served and demanding fair treatment from the authorities in handling the case. Despite some emotional stability shown by the victim, she continues to suffer psychological impacts, requiring ongoing mental support and counseling.

The Jiangyou City police reported on August 4th that a video showing an underage person being assaulted outside of school had circulated on the internet since the evening of August 2nd. Following an investigation, it was revealed that Liu, along with several others, had verbally abused, threatened, and physically assaulted the victim in an uninhabited area of Jiangyou City due to previous conflicts.

The assault resulted in minor bruises to the victim’s head and knees. All the individuals involved have been taken into custody, and appropriate punishments have been imposed on Liu and her accomplices. The remaining participants have been criticized and educated, while their guardians have been instructed to closely monitor and discipline them.

In the aftermath of the circulation of the assault video, public anger escalated. On August 4th, a large number of people gathered in front of the city government building to demand justice and accountability. However, the situation turned violent as authorities resorted to using force to suppress the protesters, resulting in the arrest of multiple individuals.

Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos and brutality, with clashes between the police and the demonstrators. The parents of the assaulted girl, including her deaf-mute mother and absent father, were present at the scene, pleading for resolution and justice. Rumors circulated that the assailants might be related to government officials, further fueling public outrage and distrust in the authorities.

Despite the heavy police presence and attempts to silence the protesters, the community remained undeterred in their pursuit of justice. The incident highlighted deep-rooted issues of bullying and abuse, underscoring the urgent need for comprehensive solutions and a fair legal process to address such disturbing occurrences in society.
