14 PLA aircrafts crossed the Taiwan Strait, Taiwan deployed missiles for monitoring.

The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China (Taiwan) stated that from 6 a.m. on February 2 to 6 a.m. today (February 3), a total of 14 instances of Chinese aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, and the military closely monitored and responded to this.

During the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday in Taiwan, the Chinese Communist Party continued to dispatch aircraft and warships to provoke Taiwan. Today (February 3) marks the end of the holiday, and the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China released information on the activities of Chinese military forces in the airspace around the Taiwan Strait. From 6 a.m. on the 2nd to 6 a.m. today, a total of 21 instances of Chinese aircraft were detected (including 14 instances crossing the median line into the northern and southwestern airspace of Taiwan) and 7 Chinese warships continued to operate in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait. The military utilized aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to these activities.

Furthermore, on February 2 at 11:30 a.m., the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China reported that a Chinese floating balloon was detected at a distance of 74 nautical miles northwest of Keelung at an altitude of 20,000 feet and disappeared at 12:10 p.m. on the same day.

On the morning of February 2, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China released information on the activities of Chinese military forces in the airspace around the Taiwan Strait. From 6 a.m. on the 1st to 6 a.m. on the 2nd, a total of 8 instances of Chinese aircraft were detected (including 6 instances crossing the median line into the southwestern airspace of Taiwan) along with 5 Chinese warships and 1 government vessel, continuing operations in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait. The military used aircraft, ships, and land-based missile systems to closely monitor and respond to these activities.

In the afternoon of February 2, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China issued a press release stating that Chinese J-16, KJ-500 aircraft, and various types of unmanned drones conducted a total of 17 sorties from 11:40 a.m., crossing the median line and its extensions into the airspace over northern, central, and southwestern Taiwan. This was in coordination with Chinese warships performing a “joint combat readiness patrol.” The military utilized integrated surveillance and reconnaissance measures to closely monitor the situation and dispatched aircraft, ships, and missile systems to respond appropriately.

On February 1, the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China reported on the activities of Chinese military forces in the airspace around the Taiwan Strait. From 6 a.m. on January 31 to 6 a.m. on February 1, only one instance of Chinese aircraft and 6 Chinese warships were detected continuing operations in the vicinity of the Taiwan Strait. The military used aircraft, ships, and missile systems to closely monitor and respond to these activities.

China has never occupied Taiwan but claims it as part of its territory, continuously increasing military pressure and influence operations around the Taiwan Strait. President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) Lai Ching-te recently visited temples across Taiwan and distributed lucky bags. In his speech, he pointed out the worsening of China’s influence operations on Taiwan and urged everyone to collectively safeguard Taiwan, emphasizing the importance of not compromising national sovereignty and democratic way of life.
