Deadly Plane Crash in Florida Claims Nine Lives, Including Millionaire Couple and Their Two Young Children

On Sunday, November 1, a small private jet en route from Austin to the Bahamas met a tragic fate over the skies of Florida, crashing and exploding, resulting in the loss of nine lives. On the following Monday, authorities confirmed the identities of the deceased, which included a high-profile tech executive worth millions, his wife, their two young children, a nanny, a couple of friends, and the pilot and co-pilot.

The victims included 44-year-old tech millionaire Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, and their two young children: four-year-old Emma and two-year-old Charlie. Adam Robinson’s brother released a statement confirming the heartbreaking news, emphasizing the family’s commitment to their roles as devoted parents, noting that their children were “the light of their lives”.

Adam Robinson introduced himself on his LinkedIn profile as the founder and CEO of RB2B and Retention.com, as well as the CEO of Moltsets. Prior to embarking on his entrepreneurial journey, he worked for respected global financial institutions, including Lehman Brothers and Barclays.

In a poignant social media tribute, Robinson’s brother shared, “The love between Helen and Adam will forever endure.”

Reports indicate that Helen Sharp was an artist before her untimely demise. Her father, Dudley Sharp, described the news of his family being on that ill-fated flight as “a heavy blow.” He shared with the Florida news outlet, The Palm Beach Post, “Our daughter, her husband, and their two grandchildren were all on that plane.”

Among the other victims were the Robinson family’s friends: Rachael Reed and Charmi Fehr, along with their nanny, Anita Maria Apellido Cetina. The Robinson family expressed their heartfelt sentiments in a statement, describing their friends as “vibrant, adventurous, and deeply loving individuals towards everyone around them.”

The statement continued with a tribute to their beloved nanny, stating, “Anita Maria cared for Emma and Charlie with tenderness and dedication; she was already an integral part of the family. She has left us with a precious legacy of unconditional love and selfless devotion.”

Confirming the tragic details, the New York Post reported that the aircraft was piloted by 55-year-old Jeff Gregory. In the moments leading up to the crash, air traffic control communications captured the sound of him reciting the “Lord’s Prayer.” Tragically, moments later, the $2 million Learjet 60 plummeted to the ground like a missile, crashing just outside a mobile home community and resulting in a devastating explosion.

The co-pilot, 20-year-old Nathalia Filgueiras, had obtained her pilot’s license while still in high school. In the final radio transmissions, her desperate screams and cries for help were audible.

During a press conference on Monday, the National Transportation Safety Board confirmed that the aircraft had begun to disintegrate before making contact with the ground, with debris scattering over a half-mile radius.

As of now, investigators have not determined whether the jet was equipped with a black box, and it remains unclear if such data recorders survived the catastrophic crash. The investigation continues as authorities seek to uncover what led to this tragic event, leaving a community and a family grappling with profound loss.
