Apple Store limits customers to purchasing a maximum of two iPhone Duos

Apple will automatically remind you to adjust the quantity of iPhone Duo in your shopping cart if you try to purchase more than two folding iPhones. The limit of two iPhone Duo per customer is applicable in the United States as well as other regions around the world.

On Tuesday, October 20th, the consumer electronics website Engadget reported that Apple stores in Japan, Spain, and the United Kingdom also received warning notifications when adding more than two iPhone Duo to the shopping cart.

The notification reads: “Each customer can purchase up to two iPhone Duo. Please adjust the total number of iPhone Duo in your order before checkout.”

According to MacRumors, it is currently unclear when Apple began implementing this quantity limit. Users in the Reddit iPhone Duo community reported that some users were able to successfully order more than two iPhone Duo when Apple started accepting pre-orders on October 16th.

It is still unclear whether and how Apple is preventing scalpers from purchasing more than two iPhone Duo by creating multiple accounts and using different credit cards.

The implementation of purchase limits by Apple is not surprising. Previously, Apple stated that the demand for iPhone Duo is “exceptionally strong” and pushed back the shipping date to 2027 shortly after pre-orders began.

Engadget reported that all stores they checked (whether in the United States or other countries) indicate that the expected shipping date for iPhone Duo is January 22, 2027.

Some users reported that their expected shipping dates were earlier than initially informed. However, if you want to get your hands on the iPhone Duo before the holidays, it may still be faster through retailers.

Best Buy shows that the 512GB version of the iPhone Duo will be available for pickup and shipment on November 10, 2026, while the 256GB version will be available on December 14, 2026.

The base price of iPhone Duo in the United States is $1,999, with the highest capacity version reaching $3,200, setting a record for the highest price ever for an iPhone.

American netizens have expressed their approval. One netizen commented that Apple should have initially restricted each person to a maximum of two iPhone Duo to prevent the rampant scalping phenomenon reported earlier.
