Zhejiang Medical Staff Rumored to Harvest Organs in Thailand, Officially Debunked Casting Doubt

Recently, there has been widespread online circulation of the news that two employees of the People’s Hospital in Wuxing District, Huzhou, Zhejiang Province were kidnapped, murdered, and had their organs harvested while traveling in Thailand. In response to this, the hospital later reported to dispel rumors, stating that the two individuals died due to “accidents.” However, the official explanation did not quell public opinion but instead sparked strong questioning from netizens.

On October 15th, the People’s Hospital in Wuxing District, Huzhou City, announced on its official WeChat account that the deceased were two of their employees named Wang and Wu, who traveled to Thailand for private reasons on October 9th and drowned in a hotel pool on Koh Samui on October 10th. On the 13th, the hospital received a telegram from the Consulate General in Songkhla, reporting that after verification by local police and on-site confirmation, the information circulating online about the two being murdered and having their organs removed was all false.

However, the explanation that “the two individuals drowned in the pool at the same time” left many netizens incredulous, with many questioning: “Was there no one supervising the hotel pool? How could two people drown at the same time?” “How deep is the hotel pool anyway? How could both of them drown?” “It’s bizarre!”

Local netizens in Huzhou also revealed on social media platforms: “(These two individuals) are from our side, but we don’t believe it anyway.” “They were ‘gah’ (a term used on the internet to indicate being killed or murdered), they are from my grandmother’s village.”

Some netizens believe, “It’s unclear whether they were drugged beforehand. Two non-swimmers going to take photos in a pool at night, how does that make sense? Even if they could swim, it’s still questionable.” “How deep can a hotel pool be, or were they in a standalone small pool? Think about it.” Some netizens also said, “If you can debunk rumors, why not explain the situation in more detail?”
