Shanghai Metro encountered a sudden issue during the morning rush hour on October 14th. Line 11 suffered a major delay from Yunjin Road to Disney Resort due to a signal equipment failure, causing frustration among commuters.
Many Shanghai netizens reported that Line 11 had a slow frequency during the morning rush hour and shared on-site photos.
Shanghai Metro’s official Weibo account posted at 6:50 on October 14th, stating that due to a signal equipment failure, the interval between trains from Yunjin Road to Disney Resort on Line 11 had been extended, with an expected delay of more than 15 minutes.
The malfunction occurred before 6:50.
As a backbone line that once connected Shanghai and Suzhou, Line 11 halted during the morning rush hour, affecting half of Shanghai’s commuting population. Many Shanghai passengers complained about being late.
“Sleepy Goose”: It took them a whole hour to notify about the malfunction! Those who are already on the train now can’t even switch lines in time.
“N-X-H”: Be specific, which direction of passengers is affected? I am heading from the east to the west station, but there are no trains. This is a real inconvenience!
“Ballet-Jumping Swan”: The announcement was incomplete, causing delays for many people!
“God of Sichuan”: The 15-minute delay is a fixed figure that never changes. Regardless of how late the trains are, it’s always more than 15 minutes, no upper limit!
According to UpWatching News, after nearly two hours of continuous malfunction, Shanghai Metro’s official Weibo account announced that the issue on Line 11 had been resolved, and operations had returned to normal. Affected passengers can obtain delay proof through the Shanghai Metro website’s operation page.
