Recent developments have emerged in the case of missing Nancy Guthrie from Arizona, USA. The Pima County Sheriff’s Office announced on September 28th that a special task force established by the police and the FBI recently received a new ransom letter that may be related to the case. They also noted comments on social media related to this letter and are currently investigating its authenticity.
The authorities have not disclosed how the letter was found or revealed its contents, so it is currently unclear whether it truly came from the kidnapper of Guthrie.
Nancy Guthrie disappeared from her home on the outskirts of Tucson, Arizona on February 1st of this year. She is the mother of American NBC “Today Show” host Savannah Guthrie.
In July of this year, the police publicly disclosed two ransom letters initially sent to a local television station in Tucson. The first letter, sent on February 2nd, claimed Guthrie was safe but scared, with the kidnapper demanding $4 million in cryptocurrency and promising to release her safely upon receiving the ransom. The second letter, sent on February 6th, stated that Guthrie had died shortly after being kidnapped.
To date, the authorities have not confirmed whether she is still alive. No one has been arrested in connection with the case. The FBI previously released surveillance footage from a residence showing a masked individual suspected of obstructing a camera near Guthrie’s doorstep. The police are continuing to investigate Guthrie’s disappearance, including determining how many individuals are involved and whether the suspects knew her.
