Warren Buffett celebrates 96th birthday by opening fortune cookie, exclaims “So accurate!”

On the occasion of “Stock God” Warren Buffett’s 96th birthday, female billionaire and Spanx founder Sara Blakely shared a video on social media of the two of them opening a “fortune cookie” after a Chinese dinner. When Buffett saw the message inside the cookie, he laughed and exclaimed that it was “spot on.” Their lighthearted interaction sparked discussions among netizens.

In the video shared on Instagram, after the meal, Blakely asked Buffett to open the fortune cookie in his hand to see the message inside. When Buffett opened the cookie, he momentarily didn’t know how to handle the small piece of paper, asking, “What do I do with this lucky fortune?”

With Blakely’s reminder, he took out the paper and read the English message: “Your happiness shines like the sun.” After hearing this, Buffett nodded in agreement, saying, “That’s too accurate!”

Blakely then jokingly teased about his investment career, saying that another message seemed to read, “As long as you play your cards right, you’re bound to make big money.”

Buffett jokingly asked if that’s what the note said, to which Blakely replied, “No.” Buffett humorously responded, “If I play my cards right, tell me something else.”

Blakely wished Buffett a happy 96th birthday in her post, saying, “Happy 96th birthday, Warren! Your fortune cookie is right, your happiness shines like the sun.”

She thanked her longtime friend for always making her laugh, saying, “Thank you for always making me laugh and for sharing your fries with me.”

Using the double meaning of the word “fortune,” Blakely mocked Buffett, saying, “I love this: you know how to create wealth but don’t know how to handle fortune cookies.”

The video attracted a large number of comments from netizens, with some saying it’s the “best fortune message” and others praising Buffett for deserving all the good luck, appreciating the natural and fun interaction between the two.

This birthday video showcased a lighthearted and humorous side of the two billionaires in their private time.

Blakely has known Buffett for many years. In 2013, she joined the “Giving Pledge,” becoming the first female billionaire to join this initiative.

The “Giving Pledge” was initiated by Buffett, Bill Gates, and others, encouraging global billionaires to commit to donating a significant portion of their wealth to charity.
