As children grow up, I often imagine myself getting old and looking back on the past. The thought of possibly regretting this precious and fleeting time makes me want to seize every busy day even more.
Even though every day is hectic with unfinished tasks, I often ponder: what could be more important than my relationships with loved ones? Do they know that I love them? Do they still have any doubts in their hearts? Have I passed on all the wonderful things I know to my children?
Not long ago, I had a heartfelt conversation with my wife, making it clear to her what our marriage means to me – everything! While it may sound ominous, I still told her that in case something happens to me suddenly, I want her to know clearly the significance of our relationship. Even if our last day together is not the most wonderful, I still hope she remembers only the beautiful memories that love has brought us.
Feelings of love and gratitude are often suppressed, or we always feel like the timing is not right to express them. However, I want to say don』t wait – you never know when it might be too late. With this in mind, while I am still alive, I took the time to come up with some words to share with everyone.
People long to feel the meaning of life. You can give meaning to someone else’s life by sharing how they have helped you become who you are today. Many times, we work hard but don’t see all the results, so when we truly see the impact of our efforts, it is a great gift.
At critical moments in people’s lives when they doubt themselves, even when they don’t believe in themselves, you can inspire them by believing in them. Your belief can change their self-perception and inspire them to achieve higher expectations.
We all know that things don’t always go as planned. Even if we give it our all, things may still not turn out as expected; even seemingly correct decisions may backfire due to unforeseen reasons. However, we can always appreciate the hard work of those around us and commend the virtues they display.
In a world where everyone is constantly glued to their phones, it seems like we are lacking in attention towards each other more than ever before. One big downside is that we often overlook the selfless kindness shown to us and those around us. People crave attention, especially when they are at their best.
You may have already said these words many times, but does the intention behind your words make your friends feel like “Wow, they really want to know”? Friendship has many levels, and achieving some levels does not depend on what you say but how you say it. While there is still time, it is best to quickly learn this “superpower.”
Faith has changed countless lives, including my own; keeping such a wonderful thing entirely to oneself always feels a bit odd. Yet, as faith is gradually declining, many are hesitant about sharing this part of their lives for fear of offending others. However, I have found that the opposite is often true – when faith is shared in a gentle, non-pressuring manner, these conversations can often be encouraging rather than burdensome.
When you intentionally point out what you love about someone, the words “I love you” carry more weight. It makes them feel that you love them for their unique, genuine qualities, not just out of some abstract, generic love towards anyone. Ultimately, being understood and loved is one of the most basic human needs.
One reason we hesitate to say these words is that we always feel like there is plenty of time. If you knew it was the last week you』d spend with a friend, you would definitely generously praise them, openly express your love. You can never predict which week will be the last. Even if that day seems distant, if you approach your relationships with a sense of “time is of the essence,” they will only grow stronger.
