On April 30th, flight CZ3291 from Nanning, Guangxi to Guangzhou, Guangdong was delayed for 69 minutes due to public safety reasons. It was reported that a passenger jokingly mentioned “no power bank, but there is a bomb,” leading to a full security recheck of the entire aircraft. The passenger involved in the incident has been taken away for investigation.
China Southern Airlines flight CZ3291 was scheduled to depart from Nanning at 7:15 am on April 30th and arrive in Guangzhou at 8:35 am. However, a public safety incident prolonged the security process, causing a delay of 69 minutes.
According to a report circulating online titled “Guangxi Flight Reassignment Report,” the delay was caused by a passenger who, when asked by a flight attendant if they were carrying a power bank, jokingly said, “No power bank, but there is a bomb.” This led to a recheck of the entire aircraft, and it eventually took off at 8:24 am, landing around 9:50 am.
In response to the incident, the Public Security Sub-bureau of Nanning Wuxu International Airport stated that the passenger involved has been taken to the police station for investigation. However, they did not disclose further details.
An airport staff member responded to Jiu Pai News, mentioning that they have conducted a thorough inspection of the passenger’s belongings and the aircraft cabin. The flight took off as scheduled on that day. The police station is currently handling the matter, and if necessary, they will provide further updates on the situation.
