London Knife Attack Injures Two Jews

In a recent incident in North London on Wednesday (April 29th), two Jewish individuals were injured in a knife attack, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect. This incident is the latest in a series of anti-Semitic attacks in the capital of the United Kingdom. Prime Minister Stammer described these attacks as “appalling.”

According to a statement by the London police, a 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The Jewish security organization, Shomrim, posted on the social media platform X, stating that a man was seen running with a knife in the Golders Green area, a Jewish community enclave, attempting to harm Jewish civilians. The man was eventually subdued and arrested by the authorities.

Authorities mentioned that counter-terrorism officials are leading the investigation, working to determine the suspect’s nationality, background, and any potential links to terrorism. It was noted that two Jewish men were injured in the attack, with their current conditions stable. One of the victims is in their 70s, while the other is in their 30s. The police received the report of the attack at 11:16 a.m. on Wednesday.

According to BBC, both men are currently receiving treatment for their severe injuries.

Following the incident, a significant number of roads were blocked off by law enforcement, with multiple emergency response vehicles, including ambulances and police helicopters, rushing to the scene.

On social media platform X, Prime Minister Stammer expressed his shock at the anti-Semitic attack in Golders Green.

“An attack on our Jewish community is an attack on the UK,” Stammer stated, expressing gratitude for the swift actions of the Jewish security organization and the police. He vowed that the perpetrator would face legal consequences.

London has witnessed a series of attacks targeting Jewish targets in recent times. Last month, several ambulances belonging to the Jewish volunteer emergency organization Hatzola were set on fire near a synagogue in Golders Green. On the night of April 18th, the Kenton United Synagogue in Harrow, London was attacked by arsonists. Additionally, on the evening of April 17th, a business establishment associated with the Jewish community was the target of an attempted arson attack. Just days before these incidents, two suspects were arrested for attempting to set fire to another Jewish synagogue in London.

On April 19th, British counter-terrorism police stated that they were investigating whether these cases were linked to Iran.
