On April 26, a major criminal case occurred in Zezhou County, Shanxi Province. The police issued a reward notice without disclosing any specific information about the case, sparking widespread attention on the internet.
On April 27, the Zezhou County Public Security Bureau in Shanxi Province issued a notice requesting assistance in solving a major criminal case that took place in the county on April 26. Through their investigation, Li, a male suspect aged 33 of Han ethnicity and a resident of Zezhou County, is believed to have significant involvement in the case and has since gone into hiding. Li is approximately 173 cm tall with a medium build and slightly hunched while walking. He was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, a white low-neck autumn shirt underneath, dark-colored pants, and black sports shoes at the time of his escape.
According to the notice, individuals who provide information leading to the capture of the criminal suspect Li may receive rewards ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 yuan based on the circumstances.
The news quickly became a hot topic on Weibo (a Chinese social media platform).
Some netizens questioned the announcement, asking, “What does ‘through their investigation’ mean?” and “It’s surprising that this news is trending and not directly released by the police.”
“Social tensions are too high, everyone should be cautious when going out!” wrote one user. “There have been many cases this year. It’s a reminder to stay away from trouble and avoid becoming the last straw that leads to irreversible harm to yourself. Safety always comes first in any situation.”
“Why rely on mobilizing the public if there’s a surveillance system like Skynet?” another user questioned. “With so many surveillance cameras and real-name registrations, why are there still unsolved cases?”
It’s worth noting that many netizens speculated, “It’s probably another hero in disguise,” or “Is this related to the Zhang Koukou case?” Some even suggested, “What could be the reason? Is he seeking justice on behalf of others?” Others added, “This calls for further investigation” and “Who would take such actions unless they were forced to?”
