Two dead and one injured in Fujian as car drives in the wrong direction, prompting public questioning.

On April 19th, a traffic accident occurred in Shuitou Town, Nan’an City, Fujian Province. A white sedan traveling in the wrong direction crashed into several people. Official reports stated 2 dead and 1 injured, but local residents accused the authorities of covering up the truth – claiming that 4 people died and the driver was drunk.

According to a report from Xinhua News Agency, a state-owned media outlet, their reporter learned from relevant departments in Nan’an City, Fujian Province that a traffic accident took place in Shuitou Town where the vehicle involved struck several people while driving in the wrong direction, resulting in 2 deaths and 1 injury. The driver has been taken into custody, and the cause of the accident is still under investigation.

The Beijing News quoted nearby shop owners who stated that the vehicle was speeding and hit several people after driving in the wrong direction.

Traffic police in Nan’an stated that the driver has been apprehended, and the exact cause of the accident is still being determined as the case is being processed.
