According to the announcement issued by the Detian International Waterfall scenic area, due to equipment maintenance and inspection, the Detian International Waterfall scenic area will be temporarily closed starting from August 11th, with the subsequent opening time to be notified separately. Visitors who have already purchased tickets online can process refunds free of charge on the original ticketing platform.

Based on reports from mainland media, at 13:56 on the 10th, the malfunction occurred in the Detian Waterfall scenic area on the high-altitude waterfall observation “magic carpet” project. As of 18:30, the accident resulted in one visitor’s death and 60 injured visitors, including one seriously injured and 59 with minor injuries. The injured visitors have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

According to photos shared by visitors from the accident scene, the area was chaotic, with the wooden walkway filled with injured visitors. Most of the injuries were to the legs, and some visitors had bloodstains on their clothes. Volunteers and personnel from the scenic area were helping to bandage and clean the wounds of the injured individuals.
