1 dead, 4 injured in Suzhou helicopter crash

During the “May Day” holiday in China, a series of accidents occurred. On May 2nd, a helicopter crashed in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, resulting in one death and four injuries according to official reports. On the same day, a car hit pedestrian incident occurred at an intersection in Gulou District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, causing multiple casualties.

The Emergency Management Bureau of Wuzhong District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, issued a notice on the evening of May 2nd, stating that around 5 p.m. on May 2nd, a R44Ⅱ helicopter (registration number B-7541) crashed from an altitude of about ten meters during its return flight in the area. The incident resulted in injuries to four people on board and the death of one person on the ground.

Due to the Chinese Communist Party’s usual practice of concealing information, it is unknown if there are more casualties.

Official sources mentioned that the civil aviation authority in Jiangsu is investigating the cause of the accident.

Additionally, around 6:50 p.m. on May 2nd, an incident occurred at an intersection in Gulou District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, where a car hit pedestrians, causing multiple casualties. Eyewitnesses at the scene exclaimed in shock, describing the situation as terrifying.

The Traffic Police Brigade of Fuzhou Public Security Bureau promptly issued a notice classifying the car accident as a common traffic accident, stating that the driver hit the car in front and passing electric bicycles due to improper operation, resulting in multiple injuries. Sadly, two of the injured individuals have already passed away despite rescue efforts.

However, some witnesses interviewed by reporters from Dajiyuan described the scene as extremely tragic, with three to four people reportedly losing their lives on the spot.
