In a recent meeting led by Mayor Huang Minhui along with deputy mayors and the chief secretary of Chiayi City, the Road Safety Meeting was convened by the An Dao work team. According to police statistics, recent Type A1 accidents are mainly caused by self-falling incidents. There is also an increasing trend of accidents and violations involving elderly individuals. During the meeting, the mayor strongly emphasized that besides each group continuing to implement various improvements in road safety, attention should also be given to the issue of elderly drivers. The monitoring group is requested to submit a special report at the next Road Safety Meeting to effectively enhance the traffic safety awareness of elderly individuals, correct their road habits and concepts, and prevent accidents involving older individuals from the root, in order to jointly maintain a safe traffic environment.
