Audience friends, hello, welcome to “Qin Peng Observation”.
Today’s focus: With the gunman being brought to court, more doubts about the second assassination attempt on Trump are exposed: the gunman actually camped outside the golf course for 12 hours, did an insider reveal Trump’s whereabouts?
The gunman’s motive seems to be becoming clearer, with Routh himself revealing some strange theories in a book, while Trump’s speech directly points to the mastermind behind it. America is sick, who should be responsible for this? Where is the way out?
First of all, please pay attention to my new YouTube channel and Clean World channel in the comments section to watch more exciting content. Thank you!
On Sunday, Eastern Time, the news of the attempted assassination of the former U.S. President shocked the world once again. Unlike the previous case in Pennsylvania where little was known, the gunman Routh was quickly captured after the incident, bringing out more information and giving the world a chance to understand the truth.
On Monday, the Florida police revealed a video taken by police body cameras during the arrest of the gunman. Let’s take a look:
On Monday morning, the gunman, Ryan Wesley Routh, appeared in court for the first time at the West Palm Beach federal court in Florida. Federal prosecutors charged him.
The indictment said that phone records showed that the gunman who attempted to assassinate Trump on Sunday had been lurking near Trump International Golf Course for about 12 hours from 1:59 a.m. to 1:31 p.m. Routh installed a GoPro camera on the fence near the golf course and built a makeshift sniper nest in the estate’s shrubbery, waiting for Trump to enter his range along the fairway. Until federal agents spotted his rifle barrel sticking out of the shrubbery and then fired at least four shots.
As a result, the gunman abandoned his rifle and fled without firing or seeing Trump, and was arrested 45 minutes later. Authorities said that when Routh was stopped, he was driving a Nissan SUV, but the license plate he used belonged to a stolen 2012 Ford truck.
At the hearing, Routh provided routine information about his employment status and income to the court officials. He whispered that he was working and had a monthly income of about $3,000, but had zero savings.
Routh stated that he had no real estate or assets other than two trucks worth about $1,000 each (both located in Hawaii). He also said he has a 25-year-old son who he sometimes supports.
During the eight-minute hearing, the prosecutor brought two charges against him: despite being convicted before, he still possessed firearms; and possessing firearms with the serial number removed. The prosecutor said that if the first charge is proven, Routh may face up to 15 years in prison, and the second charge could result in a five-year sentence.
The indictment exposes a terrible question. Normally, playing golf is usually decided on a whim or within a short period of time, why was the gunman able to know in advance and lay in ambush there for 12 hours? Who told him this message?
Previously, some speculated that he might have seen Trump’s motorcade temporarily and followed it to the golf course. But this latest news points to a more sinister direction. Is there a mole next to Trump cooperating with the gunman? Who is this mole? The Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security, or someone else?
On Monday, Martin County Sheriff William Snyder of Florida told Newsmax that the potential assassin knew that Trump was playing golf, which was “very confusing.”
“This is a $64 million question,” Snyder said. “It’s very puzzling because my understanding is that he drove a long way. He’s not from around here. So, it’s not like someone who lives nearby patrols that area, and it feels like Trump shows up there unannounced every once in a while.”
Yet he prepared early in the morning, waiting for Trump to enter his range along the fairway.
“I can tell you from a law enforcement perspective, from an investigative perspective, his motive will be key,” Sheriff Snyder said. “They want to know what’s in his head. Did he have help? Is this part of a conspiracy? Is he a lone wolf? Is he a dummy for an organization?”
Currently, the case is being handled by the FBI, but Florida Governor, Republican DeSantis, reiterated on Monday that the state would independently investigate the apparent assassination attempt on Trump.
“I know the federal government is involved in it, but we do believe that there have been multiple violations of state law,” he said at a news conference on Monday morning. “We do believe that it is important to make sure that the truth is brought to light in a credible manner with all of this.”
DeSantis added that while the federal government has its “privileges,” “we’ve got our privileges too.”
At a news conference on Monday afternoon, FBI officials said that so far, there is no information indicating that the suspects alleged to have attempted to assassinate Trump acted with others. However, Special Agent Jeffrey Veltari of the FBI’s Miami Outpost warned that the investigation is still ongoing and authorities are working to confirm whether Routh acted alone.
The motive of the gunman is the focus of attention for everyone.
From what we see now, the gunman has three prominent features. First, he is a fervent supporter of the Ukrainian war, claiming he wants to storm the Kremlin and even suggesting recruiting Afghan terrorists in order to win; second, he was a supporter of Trump, but since 2019, he has become a staunch Democratic supporter, making donations to the Democratic Party 19 times between 2019 and 2020. He became hateful towards Trump, believing Trump to be a destroyer of democracy, suggesting Trump should change his slogan to MASA (believing Trump is making Americans slaves);
Third, he has committed multiple crimes and had dozens of clashes with the police, dating back to at least the 1990s. His criminal record includes a felony, possession of mass-destructive weapons, as well as simple possession of drugs, driving without a license, expired inspection, and driving a vehicle without insurance, among others. The New York Post reported that before moving to Hawaii in 2018, neighbors in North Carolina said he was a loose cannon and many were afraid of him.
The UK’s Daily Mail found that the gunman Routh self-published a book last year titled “Ukraine’s Unwinnable War,” which is a chaotic manifesto that describes his time in Ukraine and his political views. This e-book is still available for purchase on Amazon for $2.99.
In the book, he showed his support for Iran. He said he had voted for Trump and made a terrible mistake, calling Trump a “clown.” He said, “I made a misjudgment, made a terrible mistake, and I apologize to Iran. ‘You can assassinate Trump and me because of misjudgments and the abolition of agreements.'”
And as we know, Iran is the source of Middle Eastern terrorism, with Hamas, the Houthi militia in Yemen, Hezbollah in Syria, and Iraqi militias all connected to Iran. During the Trump administration, pressure was put on Iran, not only cancelling the Iran nuclear deal but also imposing oil sanctions on Iran. The subsequent Biden administration lifted these bans, and then Iran ordered Hamas to attack Israel and supported the Houthi militia and others to interfere with shipping in the Red Sea.
The book is filled with his naivety and delusional thinking. He advocates entering Kharkiv to help Ukraine fight, but in reality, most of his work in this war-torn country involved raising flags, participating in protests, and constantly accepting interviews from mainstream American media.
Previously, in media interviews, he also portrayed himself as a recruiter for the International Brigade of Ukraine and an underground contact for the Ukrainian government. However, on Monday, when interviewed by NBC News, Alexander Shachuri, a representative of the Foreign Liaison Department of the Ukrainian Ground Forces Headquarters, stated that the gunman Routh had never served in the Ukrainian military or cooperated with the military in any capacity.
Shachuri also said that for the past two and a half years, Routh had regularly contacted the International Brigade with “absurd ideas.” He said that his plans and ideas can be described as “delusional.”
What specific delusions? Shachuri did not say, but we can glean some clues from Routh’s book.
This book is essentially a declaration for world peace, but it gives a very naive impression. For example, he expressed regret for the ongoing border disputes worldwide, and also portrayed the brutal Taliban in Afghanistan as a “legitimate civilization organization and government” without intent.
He also expressed regret for the sudden withdrawal of the United States from Afghanistan but proposed an impractical solution. “At the very least, we should build a wall around Kabul to isolate part of Afghanistan, where it can be free and democratic, able to defend itself, allowing savages and terrorists to murder each other at will.”
He also proposed his own solution for world peace, “We must achieve the goal of having every leader be a woman, so that we can avoid the testosterone-driven madness and male chauvinism.”
In addition to Iran, he also has a deep fascination with North Korea, embodying strong delusional personality traits in his language.
“Solving our problems with North Korea is the easiest challenge we have on Earth,” he wrote when talking about this nuclear-armed country.
“I would gladly volunteer to be kidnapped by North Korea and work with them for a few years to show them that Americans are not enemies individually,” he wrote.
On Twitter, on May 25, 2020, he also wrote, “Kim Jong-un, I know you’re smart and educated, and hope your country will be prosperous and successful. We Americans can help you achieve your goals and dreams, let’s work together. I would be happy to act as an ambassador and envoy to end disagreements and sanctions.”
However, we know that like the CCP, dictators do not want their people to become wealthy; instead, they see their rule as paramount, making the country poor and backward for themselves.
On the same day, he wrote, “Kim Jong-un, I am pleased to invite you to vacation in Hawaii. We will be happy to have you and will host you. Due to the current virus situation, there is plenty of private space here, and I would be honored to have you on our beach. I am a leader here and can arrange the entire trip. Please come.”
But as we mentioned earlier, he actually only ran a regular company with his son, with not much monthly income, yet he deluded himself into being a leader and able to arrange everything.
CNN also commented that he had “grandiose delusions”: depicting himself on social media as a world-traveling freedom fighter, a stark contrast to the reality.
His hundreds of social media posts also show his political views, swinging drastically from left to right and back, often violently.
He expressed support for democratic socialist Bernie Sanders, or Trump himself. For example, in 2020, he supported Sanders in the Democratic presidential election, while mocking “Sleepy Joe” as having no plan, no ideas, somewhat like the weak Hillary. At the time, he openly supported multiple Democrats.
Earlier, in 2016, he voted for Trump, but as he wrote in his book, he later turned hateful towards Trump, even wishing for Iran to kill him.
In recent years, his speeches and some mainstream media propaganda are very similar.
“Democracy is on the ballot, we cannot lose,” he wrote on X in April this year. This statement is almost identical to the propaganda of a certain party.
In July, after the first assassination attempt on Trump, Routh made comments on his X account related to him, tagging President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on different posts, encouraging them to visit the injured at the Trump rally.
“You and Biden should visit the injured at the hospital from the Trump rally and attend the funeral of the murdered firefighter. Trump will never do anything for them,” he wrote in a post tagging Harris.
So, what made him eventually feel that Iran was good and Trump unforgivable? I believe that some mainstream media propaganda is also to blame.
On Monday afternoon, President Biden told reporters on the White House lawn that he tried to call Trump but couldn’t reach the former president and would try again later.
On July 13, after Trump was grazed by a bullet at a rally in Pennsylvania, Biden called Trump, and the two later described a warm conversation.
But on Monday, Trump blamed the Democratic Party’s propaganda for his recent assassination attempt.
“He believes Biden’s and Harris’ words and took action,” Trump told Fox News when asked about the potential assassin Ryan Ross. “Their words led to me being shot.”
Trump’s statement, and his emphasis on unity after the first assassination attempt, are different. So, does he have a point? Indeed, to a certain extent, he does. A key way in which the Democratic Party promotes itself is by demonizing Trump as a Democratic enemy, using hate to solidify support. For example, on the first day of the Democratic National Convention, Trump was mentioned 147 times, while only eight mentions were made of the crisis of illegal immigration at the southern border, three mentions of inflation, and 27 mentions of economic growth. The latter three issues are the top three concerns of American voters.
In this sense, we say America is sick. In a normal democratic election, the focus should be on studying policies to see what they can bring to the American people, rather than demonizing political opponents.
The America we knew was a country that placed faith above all else, the Puritans of the Mayflower, engraving “In God We Trust” on banknotes, Washington and the founding fathers being willing to give up everything for independence, and then willingly disarming after victory; and leaders like Lincoln who wanted to build a country where the people have a say, rule, and benefit together…
But today’s America has become different from the America we once knew.
Why? Because in recent years, America has moved away from faith, leading some people to destroy everything and break rules and laws to win elections. However, faith and the rule of law are precisely the sources of American democracy and freedom, and can America still be America without that foundation?
As the second US President John Adams said, “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
Faith and freedom have made the America of the past, can America reflect and reshape its glory today?
