Hello everyone, welcome to News Five, today’s co-hosts are Tang Hao, Qin Peng, Lin Lan, Qin Yue, and I’m Fuyao. With our diverse perspectives and viewpoints colliding, we will take you into the rich world of news. Feel free to subscribe and like our independent channel.
Today’s focus: G7’s strike against China and Russia, 11 highlights! In this matter, Biden rebutted Zelensky; Putin discussed a ceasefire agreement, which Zelensky immediately rejected; What information does the agreement imply? Who fell for Beijing’s obstruction of the Peace Summit? How did Chinese territory become confidential?
Let’s start by watching a video today.
Is it true that Putin is really scared? Recently, he proposed a condition for a ceasefire in the “Russia-Ukraine war,” which involves the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops, claiming that the Ukrainian military should withdraw from four areas occupied by Russian forces.
However, do you know that Russia often invades and then alters history? It was previously reported that the Russian high school history books deleted the content about “Russia occupying the Far East of China.”
Q1 – Lin Lan, as a result, some Chinese citizens felt this was unacceptable and twice filed complaints with the Chinese Foreign Ministry, accusing the government of “deliberately concealing the invasion of territory by Russia.” Guess what? The Beijing High Court dismissed the case, stating that “the people have no right to know the national territory.”
Q2 – Qin Yue, some people initially thought it was Japan, but it changed to the United States. Why did it switch back to the US?
Answer: Because in the indoctrination of the Chinese education system, Japan and the US are considered the most hostile countries. The thought process might be, if it’s not Japan, then it must be the US bullying us. Chinese textbooks almost never mention the help provided by the US to China, nor do they fully portray the true role of the Communist Party in the war.
Even after watching the video, some people still acknowledge that Russia occupies the most land in China. A comment by a netizen truly reflects the public mindset: the answer is Russia, so we should blame the US. It is evident how deeply ingrained the brainwashing by the Communist Party is among the public.
I believe the biggest land grabber in China is the CCP! It has occupied 9.6 million square kilometers of land in China. When is it going to return it to the Chinese people?
Q3 – Qin Peng, if even the “little pinks” (ultra-nationalist Chinese) knew the history, wouldn’t China have no more “little pinks”?
Yes, I was a “little pink” all the way through university, but after understanding history, I realized that loving the country does not equate to loving the party. As Qin Yue mentioned, the biggest aggressor in China is the Chinese Communist Party. It not only acted as a pawn for the Soviet Union to occupy China but also turned the Qing Dynasty into a thin rooster, killing 80 million Chinese during peacetime and destroying traditional Chinese culture. After all the turmoil, it then transformed itself, engaging in reform and opening up and promoting national spirit.
However, it knows what is fake, which is why it establishes the Great Firewall of the Internet to block the spread of truth and even attempts to suppress Shen Yun performances overseas, because Shen Yun represents the true 5,000 years of Chinese culture before the Communist Party, where the party’s existence is based on lies. Once people understand history, they will realize that the CCP is the real traitor, murderer, corrupt criminal, and aggressor in China.
The annual G7 summit of leaders closed on June 14 in Italy. These seven developed democratic countries together account for nearly half of the global GDP, and with EU officials also present, their decisions carry significant weight in global politics and economics.
During the 3-day meeting, the first day focused on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the second day targeted China, highlighting China’s overcapacity and support for Russia.
In the summit’s communique, the G7 leaders pledged to combat China’s unfair trade practices that harm workers and industries in various countries. They also warned of taking action against Chinese financial institutions that assist Russia in obtaining weapons.
Q1 – Tang Hao, before this summit, both the US and EU had already taken significant actions against China, such as the EU imposing tariffs on Chinese electric cars and the US sanctioning nearly 300 entities and individuals supporting Russia. The wording of the joint G7 communique seems to indicate that there might be more significant actions ahead?
Q2 – Fuyao, the G7 was previously described as an economic club, but it seems to have evolved? And it appears that China is quite fearful of this change.
Q3 – The G7 closed on the 14th, and on the 15th, over ninety countries and organizations globally will hold the “Ukraine Peace Summit” in Switzerland. Russian President Putin proposed ceasefire conditions the day before the peace summit: firstly, Ukraine declares not to join NATO; secondly, Ukrainian troops withdraw from the four states currently occupied by Russia. Zelensky promptly rejected this proposal.
Q4 – Qin Yue, Ukrainian President Zelensky mentioned that Xi Jinping had assured him in the past not to sell weapons to Russia. It remains to be seen if China will keep its promise. Do you think China will honor its commitment? Do you think Ukraine is truly naive?
Answer: China will not keep its promise. As Biden stated at the G7 summit, China does not supply weapons but provides the capability and technology to produce weapons. So even if they do not directly provide weapons, providing weapon technology is even more frightening, right? The drones and chips used by Russia in the war come from China. With the long border between China and Russia, the unstinting friendship between Xi Jinping and Putin makes smuggling items over easy and not easily investigated.
Everyone knows that China has always been helping Russia. So, is Ukraine really naive? It’s not about naivety, it’s about having no choice. Can Ukraine financially sanction China? There are no chips to blackmail China. Ukraine can only choose to believe, hence China’s intervention and calls for ceasefires repeatedly.
At the June Singapore Shangri-La Dialogue, Zelensky publicly criticized China for the first time. Zelensky also mentioned that a year ago, Xi Jinping assured him in a phone call that China would not provide weapons support to Russia. But intelligence suggests that some items somehow make their way to Russia through China… certain parts of Russian weapons come from China.
Some analysts wonder if Zelensky finally realized at this point that continuing to cozy up to China was pointless. It could be seen as a form of provocation, bringing China’s role into the limelight in hopes they won’t cross the line further.
Q5 – Prior to this summit, Zelensky publicly criticized China, stating that China is helping Russia disrupt the peace summit. Reuters reported on the 13th, quoting ten diplomats saying that not only did China not participate in the peace summit, but also privately lobbied various governments not to participate and only support China’s so-called “peace plan” proposed last month.
What was the result? Out of the 107 countries and organizations confirmed at the beginning of the month, now there are only about 90. Several major regional powers like Brazil, South Africa, and Saudi Arabia are absent.
Tang Hao, what is China’s plan? Why is it aggressively promoting its own plan?
Q6 – Qin Peng, now China is rallying some countries against the West. Does peace seem distant now?
Regardless of when peace will come to the Russia-Ukraine battleground, a rallying cry against communist totalitarianism on a global scale has been sounded—a glimmer of hope for free societies. Thank you all for watching this episode of News Five. Goodbye.
